New Web Site coming SOON!!!!

Hello bluegrass fans.
Just a heads up, i have been working night and day coding a new web site for Northern Bluegrass.

Site is being redone from the ground up (ALL NEW with new look)

Things to look forward to:
1. Things will be updated very quickly, so no more waiting for event dates
2. New Photo Gallery Section
3. Videos Section
4. Music Clips and or complete media
5. News Letters ( to whom subscribes )
6. Mailing list (which will now be used and activated)
7. Live! Video streams (in the works, will come soon after initial site is up) {if bandwidth permits}
8. Fan Account Subscription, so users can customize their visits and upload Video, Music, Photos etc...


All this coming soon.
I've been working day and night for 5 days now and i am 1/4 done, so do the math, if i don't get bothered (LOL!!) i should be done with three weeks to a month.

Any comments and other suggestions to what we should add or modify on the site is welcome.

Yup i am back, but i will be going back again shortly after the holidays.

As for the Forum, i plan on updating to the phpBB Ver.3 and customizing the heck out of it so that it will fit the new theme and layout of the new site.

I hope with version 3 you can <hope i'm usin the proper terminology> hot link directly to a video posted on youtube. instead of just posting a link.....

But after you submit...you can see the video right on the forum page......
with a lot of people taking videos at festivals it would be a neat feature...

I guess you did not read my entire post.
I am designing and coding a Video section on the main site where registered users can submit videos.

The section will be searchable and will be totaly streaming.

I read it but i guess I misunderstood.....Web sites that you can upload to the main sites are rare and the uploads have to be approved by the site administrator first to make sure they are appropriate to the site....(unlike a forum which can be controlled by any moderator).......

On second thought I used to belong to a V Bulletin forum that has that feature....a section just for video uploads .....but I don't know who controls it..
Ayear ago..... I exposed a 'popular' member as a troll and got banned from that forum in the process .......but my consolation...so did the troll

The uploaded content will not go live, i guess it is to complex to explain every detail as to what will be the process, but the content will be reviewed before being posted.

I have been delayed once again, i have to prepare for Libya again, leaving on the 28th, so this means the New Site development will be delayed again.

I have most of the Framework done, just need to code the backend data sections.

I hope to get this done, just after xmax and before the new year.

I haven't been to this thread in some time, but I figured I should give some sort of update.

The new site is now up and running 95%. I need only to finish (or should I say start) the Video Section and the News Letter Subscriptions sections.

Besides this all areas and sections are now up and running.

Be sure to register on the main site and activate your account. New members can then access their (User Control Panel) from the left hand side menu. Once in the control panel you can navigate the tabs and request access to modules such as the Photo Gallery and others. If the Administrator grants you access to the modules you request, then you will be able to contribute your content. The administrator will always have to review anything you submit before it goes live.

Also in the control panel you can Send and Receive private messages between members and the administrator, so log in often to see if you have messages.

Also be sure to check out the Music Section on the main site, their is not much there at the moment, but I am sure once content is uploaded this section will be a great place for members to listen and find albums from Artists. The Music section also allows members or guests to create their own private Playlist by simply navigating through Artists->Albums->Tracks and click the Add to Playlist button, this creates a cookie so every time you return to the site you can simple return to the Music Section and click on the My Playlist link and listen to your favorite tunes.

Once I have the video section, this will run similar to the Music section.

There are a slew of other features, simply go through the site menu and visit all the section to see what NBC offers. And please feel free to send me your comments, feedback and suggestions for improvements or other features.
